Hi I’m Kam and welcome to my blog.
The truth is I’m mad about fashion, both current and preloved. Before my life as a freelance Personal Stylist, I worked within the media and then as a corporate Project Manager. I found it increasingly difficult to juggle stressful work life, with having a young family and rising childcare costs, so when I fell pregnant for the third time, I decided to call it quits. My time at home gave me the opportunity to work out what it was that I wanted to do, where my passions lie, and how best to utilise the skills and experience I’d built up along the way. Eventually, I realised that by becoming a Personal Stylist, I could not only combine my passion for fashion with helping others, but also gain the flexibility that I needed to fit a career in around raising my kids.
After becoming a mummy I struggled with body confidence and my own self esteem, especially after having an emergency C-Section with my first-born. I genuinely thought that the birth would be a bed of roses, and by no means was I prepared for what my body would go through. Even down to wearing ‘Big knickers’ afterwards to hold the pad on the wound where I’d been cut open……I just hadn’t a clue!!! Fashion, and how I looked were the last things on my mind!!! But 3 C-Sections and 1 natural birth later, I slowly came to realise that I could use my clothes as a tool to regain my confidence, and feel empowered again. So I now have 4 kids, and I’m very familiar with the struggles that a woman can face as a mum, and being uncomfortable in her own skin.
So many mum’s ask me for my help with their outfits, and also where I buy my clothes from. I’ve never been into high-end fashion, and especially having a young family, I’ve had to learn to budget well, to accommodate my love of fashion. I love nothing better than finding high street bargains, and having a good rummage around in a charity shop or local car boot sale for pre-loved items. I’ve never been a catwalk dress size either, but I am a firm believer that no matter what your size and shape, you can always look and feel great in what you wear, if you have the knowledge of what suits you and the confidence to wear it! I’m now on a mission to help other Mum’s who are in the same boat that I was in all those years ago!!!
Not only is this blog my portfolio of looks, trends, frugal shopping and inspirations, it’s also an outlet covering modern day Mummy life!!! Being a Mum was never going to be easy….but with some support and encouragement along the way…..Together, I’m sure we’ve got a good shot at getting it right!!! So if you fancy a taste of Fashion and All Things Mummy…… why don’t you join me on my journey?
Thanks for stopping by! 💋
